Tax is estimated on your order by doing the following:

First, we utilize the actual state sales tax rate and apply that to your order to calculate the state portion of the sales tax.

Second, we compare all of the county sales tax rates located in the state and apply the county with the highest rate to calculate the county portion of the sales tax.

Third, we compare all of the local/municipal sales tax rates located in the state and apply the local/municipal with the highest rate to calculate the local/municipal portion of the sales tax.

Finally, we add all three of the above calculations to determine the estimated sales tax that is shown on your invoice. Please note that your actual charge for sales tax should never be higher than what we have estimated on your invoice.

Once the order has been completed on our e-commerce site with the estimated sales tax, we transfer the order to our inventory management system which generates an invoice calculating the actual appropriate sales tax based on the ship-to address. This may cause variations to your expected sales tax if your billing address is different than the ship to address. Following shipment of your order, and only at this time, your credit card will be charged the invoice amount with the actual sales tax.
